WebDec 13, 2024 · The simplest solution, as mentioned in the answer about sshfs, is to copy the file to some more "local" filesystem, or - at least in case of ISO images - use eg. fuseiso to mount the image as the same user. Booting without the initrd (or with initrd /microcode.cpio) results in a kernel panic. This leads me to the suspicion that meta-intel overwrites my initramfs (since microcode.cpio is present in boot)
